Palazzo Area Scientifico Didattica Paolo Volponi

 Palazzo Volponi, formerly known as Nuovo Magistero, is one of the symbolic buildings of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. Designed by Giancarlo De Carlo between 1968 and 1976, it is a rare example of modern architecture fully integrated into the city’s historical context. Originally home to the Faculty of Education, it now bears the name of Paolo Volponi, a writer and intellectual from Urbino. At its heart is the Aula Magna, a semicircular hall with 630 seats. The building was recently restored, preserving original materials and furniture by De Carlo, including natural resin floors. The renovation brought the structure up to current standards without altering its identity.
