The DATA, also known as the "Orto dell’Abbondanza" (Garden of Abundance), is a significant example of urban heritage recovery and enhancement. Originally built as stables for Duke Federico da Montefeltro’s horses, the building was designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini. Its impressive structure could house up to three hundred horses.
In the 19th century, the DATA underwent a transformation, becoming the city’s granary and was renamed "Orto dell’Abbondanza," a reference to its new role in storing and distributing essential food resources for the community of Urbino.
In the 20th and 21st centuries, the building was repurposed as an exhibition and multifunctional space, becoming a symbol of the connection between past and present. The DATA is now a place that hosts events, exhibitions, and meetings.
