Chiesa ed ex Convento di San Girolamo

The monumental complex of the Church of San Girolamo in Urbino consists of the church and the convent, and is one of the city's most important religious buildings. The structure is organized around two courtyards, one of which directly borders the Monastery of Santa Chiara. The church was rebuilt from scratch in 1753, following the design of architect Giuseppe Tosi, after the destruction of the 15th-century building. The church was consecrated in 1780 and features an elegant façade, while the interior, though simple, retains some Baroque and Neoclassical details.

Over the centuries, the complex has had various functions and today , the church and convent house one of the campuses of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, continuing to play a central role in the cultural and academic life of the city. The building's transformation from a place of worship to a university campus is an example of adaptive reuse and the enhancement of historical and architectural heritage.
