Chiesa di Santo Spirito

The Church of Santo Spirito, located on Via Donato Bramante, dates back to 1554 and was once the seat of the Confraternity of the Holy Spirit. The simple façade is enhanced by an elegant 16th-century portal, which leads into an interior rich in decoration.

The church's vaulted ceiling is frescoed with a cycle of paintings by Girolamo Cialdieri and his workshop. The fifteen panels depict the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, biblical stories, and four prophets. The side walls also feature frescoes of the Apostles, again attributed to Cialdieri's school.

At the main altar, there is a large painting by Federico Zuccari, depicting the Pentecost (1606). On the side altars, two paintings by Claudio Ridolfi can be found: "The Presentation of Mary in the Temple" and "St. Charles Borromeo Under Attack." Today, the church remains an active place of worship.
