Ca’ Romanino

Built on the scenic Romanino hill near Urbino, the building was originally a humble farmhouse. In 1967, architect Giancarlo De Carlo was commissioned to transform it into a modern residence. Today known as Ca’ Romanino, the house stands out for its seemingly simple geometric volumes, which actually conceal a sophisticated and carefully studied spatial layout and a thoughtful relationship with the surrounding landscape. De Carlo masterfully integrated the structure into its natural setting, creating a work that balances functionality, comfort, and architectural sensitivity.

In 2002, Ca’ Romanino became the headquarters of the cultural association bearing its name, dedicated to its promotion. Since 2013, the building has been managed by the Ca’ Romanino Foundation, established to protect and raise awareness of this significant example of contemporary architecture.
